NOK: Sears of Handsets Wants To Make PCs Now

NOK: still floundering – if low-end handsets aren’t competitive enough, they want to challenge DELL with a 10” laptop.

GS gets grilled in WSJ over improper sales techniques: telling “best” clients in advance when they will upgrade/downgrade stocks. (Practice is actually quite widespread on wall street – another reason independent research is so valuable).

Dr. Doom Roubini says risk of double-dip recession. (as a contrarian, I’m happy to hear this)

LVS: South China Morning Post is reporting that Guangdong province may relax Macau visa restrictions beginning Sep 1st. Visits will be allowed monthly, up from once every two months. Macau gaming on track in first half of August to be up 20% year over year – but against easy comps due to Olympics last summer so not clear.
